We Held Hands

By Billie Daddario

We held hands

We held each other’s secrets

We held our breath as the other walked through fire

Now you hold us apart

You hold broken toys

Loosing grip of each other’s hand

No one to hold secrets

No one to hold our breath for as we walk through fire

Now we hold grudges and anger

And it passes for grown up things

But we were happier once

Holding hands
